The Premier League and The Football Association have joined forces to announce they have entered an agreement that will increase the funding that is filtered down through the football pyramid.
It’s estimated the top league in English Football will provide £133million per season starting from the 2025/26 season, the Premier league donates 1.6billion every three years to all levels of men’s and women’s football. This added money will look to plug gaps in areas that are still affecting non-professional football such as training space and pitch maintenance.
The fund will also specifically aim to fund more opportunities for people with disability to back up the FA’s slogan ‘For All’, with the ever-increasing interest and participation in the women’s game in recent years some of the fund will be made available here at all levels.
Richard Masters the Chief Executive of the Premier League was quoted as:
"The Premier League is proud of the investment it provides to all levels of the game and this new agreement with The FA will see us enhance our support into grassroots football."
